“I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up that I was not happy.”
The bush is a quiet place, where the rhythms of life are dictated by the sunrise and the sunset. What is it that keeps us returning time and time again?
Africa is vast, and diversity is breathtaking. Although we all have different preferences when it comes to spending time in the bush, it all goes down to where it all started. Africa is the origin of the human-kind, and the call to the roots connects us all individually.
We live in the age of connectivity, and the strength of the wifi is so important. In the bush, after a few days of “internal struggle” and a sense of guilt for not being full-time connected, you will soon realize the pleasure of connecting with you, with your inside, and discover what really counts for you. Waiting for the sunset while drinking a glass of wine. Stay with your family or best friends, in the silence of the bush. An evening spent by the fire under the stars of the Kalahari, sharing with the significant other the highlights of the day, is invaluable. These are unique experiences, not to be missed. It is these moments that we long to return for.
Each day in the bush is different. Each game drive offers unexpected experiences. Each corner displays a diverse landscape. Each village you will visit will give you an amazing cultural experience. Ultimately, each day is a learning experience. You will feel the need to go back there again. When you travel in the bush, no one knows your name or who you are, your net worth, or how famous you are. Your personal values count much more than any material possessions, and the natural willingness to connect with different cultures will prevail.
Feed your mind
The pace of today’s life is often overwhelming, and stress is high. Career, financial obligations, need to give our family the best we can and to live up to the expectations of those around us add a lot of pressure to our daily life. Life in the bush gives us a chance to relax, to detach from the routine, to appreciate the beauties of nature, and ultimately, reconnect and feed your mind with positive thoughts. The natural environment is an inspiring teacher if we are humble enough to listen, and we take the time to engage with.
At v-adventures, we believe these are the reasons why we have the feeling like you are always planning for the next trip to Africa. Do you agree? Please feel free to share your thoughts.
