The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting different countries at different times, with different intensities, and in different shapes. Tanzania, in Africa, is one of the countries which bases its economy on tourism. Travel bans are affecting wildlife, one of its greatest resources, which has no more funds for conservation and anti-poaching. In addition, without travelers, local communities who live in and around the lodges are suffering, since there aren’t and there will be no tourism for many months.
By running this virtual race, you will support the 63 members of the staff at Ndutu Safari Lodge, more than 350 people of their families, and the conservancy projects we have in place to protect the wildlife. If we can help the family and the business, we will be able to better restart the wildlife tourism economy after COVID-19. The world will look different after this pandemic, and conservation will suffer. But we do not need to see thousands of otherwise successful nature tourism businesses close down. Your help and donations will ensure that the setback from COVID-19 is limited and that wildlife conservation areas and the people who depend on them bounce back as quickly as possible.
v-adventures is proud to promote this 5K Virtual Run Fundraising to support Ndutu Wildlife and People. The GoFundMe platform will collect race fees and donations. The amount will be entirely used to support them and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic, through this period without tourism.
Ingela Jansson, Director at Kope Lions, is the beneficiary who collects and manages the donations. Ndutu Safari Lodge is a proud partner of Kope Lions, a US 501(c)(3), no-profit organization.
At the end of the form, you will be addressed to the GoFundMe platform, which collects your
